Best Trail Running Hydration Vests Under $100 (2026)
LECAMO's three packs, ROOT5, ROOT8 and ROOT18, are listed between $50 and $80. Below are their listed specs, one Decathlon option that was under $100 in a single sale size when we checked, and how to choose by the load you carry. This is LECAMO's buying guide based on listed specs, not an independent test.

The short list
| Pack | Listed US price | Capacity | Drinking containers in the listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| LECAMO ROOT5 | $50 | 5L | Two 500ml wide-mouth soft flasks included |
| LECAMO ROOT8 | $78 | 8L | Two 500ml soft flasks included |
| LECAMO ROOT18 | $80 | 18L | Twin soft-flask pockets; confirm supplied flasks |
| Decathlon Kiprun 10L bag | $145 (Smoked Black); one Light Gray size $80 on sale from $119 | 10L | 1L water bladder included |
Prices checked October 5, 2026. Decathlon lists the Smoked Black color at $145; the $80 sale price applied only to one remaining Light Gray size. Confirm current prices on each seller's page.
ROOT5 5L: $50
The ROOT5 is for shorter training runs and supported races: water, phone, keys, fuel and a light layer. The listing includes two 500ml wide-mouth soft flasks, so the $50 covers the vest and 1L of flask capacity. It uses YKK zippers and has a published chest chart from S to XL.
ROOT8 8L: $78
The ROOT8 adds room for extra clothing, food or required race equipment and comes with two 500ml soft flasks. The product page lists a close-to-body fit, a breathable back, two front flask pockets and two vertical zipped pockets.
ROOT18 18L: $80
The ROOT18 is for long routes, fast hiking and self-supported days. The product page lists a wraparound adjustable fit, a honeycomb-style breathable back, an external bungee system, rain-resistant YKK zips and an integrated emergency whistle. Pack your full kit to check the fit, because a larger pack carried half-empty can feel different.
Decathlon Kiprun 10L
Decathlon's US site lists a 10L trail bag with a 1L bladder at $145 in Smoked Black. When we checked on October 5, 2026, only one Light Gray size was still on sale at $80, so it is under $100 only if that size fits you. Choose it if you prefer drinking from a hose, and compare how a full bladder sits on your back with front flasks.
What you trade under $100
- Cut options: premium ranges often include several fits; LECAMO's packs are unisex and sized by chest chart.
- Extras: check what is in the box and add any missing flasks to the price.
- Proof of fit: no table can tell you how a vest feels on your body. Load it and run a short loop before your first long run.

FAQ
Are vests under $100 good enough?
A vest is good enough when it holds your load, fits your torso and keeps essentials reachable. Price does not tell you that; a loaded fit test does.
Do budget vests include soft flasks?
Some do. The ROOT5 listing includes two 500ml flasks. Always check the box contents before comparing prices.
Which LECAMO vest should a beginner start with?
Start from your longest regular run and what it requires you to carry. For short, supported runs, the ROOT5 covers water and essentials with flasks included.
