Check a Running Vest Delivery Before Your First Run
When a running vest arrives, check the delivery against the exact order before removing labels or taking it outside. Model, variant and included accessories are separate things to verify. A photograph from a product family does not necessarily show the contents of your selected option.
Read the seller's current return and reporting conditions first. Keep packaging and order information available while checking. This workflow helps you document what arrived; it does not replace the seller's process or certify that the pack fits you.
Match the order and the labels
Find the model and selected size or variant in your order confirmation. Compare them with the labels on the delivered item. Check the units if a measurement appears on both records. If anything differs, pause before using or altering the equipment.
Take clear photographs of the relevant labels and the item as received. Keep private addresses, phone numbers and unrelated order details out of any images shared publicly. Use the seller's appropriate support channel for a delivery question.

Lay out the included items
Set out the pack and each accessory in a clean area. Compare the list with the selected option's description. Note any component that is missing, unexpected or difficult to identify without forcing assembly.
The current LECAMO ROOT5 listing includes the pack and two 500ml soft flasks. A ROOT8 description of two flask pockets does not by itself state that two flasks are supplied. Use the actual order listing to decide what should be on your table.
Inspect externally before loading
Look at seams, closures, straps and pockets for visible damage. Operate normal controls gently as instructed. Do not dismantle a closure or pull a stuck zip repeatedly to prove that it works.
| Observation | Useful next step |
|---|---|
| Different variant label | Compare order details and contact the seller |
| Unclear accessory | Ask for identification or assembly instructions |
| Visible damage | Photograph the area and follow the reporting process |
| No obvious delivery issue | Proceed with a permitted fit check |
Delivery inspection and fit inspection answer different questions. A complete order can still be the wrong fit for the user or the intended load.
Make the first fit check appropriate to the policy
Use running vest sizing guide for model-specific sizing and adjustment. Check what kind of indoor trial is permitted before adding water or taking the pack outdoors. Keep the equipment clean and follow any condition requirements from the seller.
If you need to compare carrying roles, ROOT5 versus ROOT8 comparison explains ROOT5 and ROOT8. The comparison helps choose what to try; it does not justify exchanging a delivered model for another without following the current process.
Keep a concise delivery record
Write down the model received, labels checked, accessories identified and any issue reported. Save the original photographs and correspondence until the matter is resolved. Do not discard an unfamiliar component simply because it is absent from a generic packing video.
Once delivery questions are settled, build the complete route load and perform the appropriate fit and access checks. That is the point to decide how the vest works with your equipment. The unopened-package inspection should remain a record of what arrived, rather than a claim of trail-tested performance.
