FAQ: choosing a pack, sizing, returns
Straight answers to what buyers ask us most. If your question is not here, email lecamoofficial@gmail.com and a person will reply.
Which pack should I choose: ROOT5, ROOT8 or ROOT18?
Pick by how long you will be out and how much water and mandatory gear the route forces you to carry, not by distance alone.
- ROOT5 (5L): short and fast sessions where you want the least bulk. Comes with two 500ml soft flasks, so 1L of water up front.
- ROOT8 (8L): daily training, mid-distance races and variable routes, where hydration, layers and required gear need more room than a 5L pack gives.
- ROOT18 (18L): longer routes, races with a long mandatory kit list, or fast day hiking where you carry layers and more food.
If you are between two, read ROOT5 vs ROOT8 or the longer capacity guide.
What size should I order?
Size by chest circumference, measured with a tape kept level.
| Size | Chest (cm) | Chest (in) |
|---|---|---|
| S | 78–90 | 30.7–35.4 |
| M | 90–102 | 35.4–40.2 |
| L | 102–115 | 40.2–45.3 |
| XL | 115–125 | 45.3–49.2 |
Inch figures are approximate. If your measurement sits on a boundary, take the larger size: a larger runner who tested the ROOT5 found it a little snug at first and then said it felt good once he had used it, and the advice recorded on that page is to size up if you are between sizes.
Their notes are on the runner reviews page.
Does the pack come with flasks or a bladder?
ROOT5 ships with two 500ml wide-mouth soft flasks, 1L of flask capacity in total. Flasks and bladders are also sold separately if you want to change your setup: the 500ml soft flask for front carry and the 2L bladder for routes where refill points are far apart. Soft flask vs bladder explains when each one makes sense.
Can I return or exchange it?
Yes. You can request a return within 14 days of receiving the order, with the item in its original, undamaged packaging. Email lecamoofficial@gmail.com with your order number and the reason, and we send return instructions once the request is approved.
If the return is because of a quality problem with the item, LECAMO covers return shipping. For a change of mind, return shipping is yours. Once we receive and inspect the item, an approved refund goes back to your original payment method within about 3 business days on our side; your bank may take longer to post it. Size and colour exchanges are possible subject to stock. Full terms: refund policy.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
Email lecamoofficial@gmail.com with your order number and photos of the problem. We arrange a replacement and cover the return shipping cost.
Will I pay customs or import duties?
Prices on this site are in USD and do not include taxes, duties or import fees. On international orders those charges are set by your own country and are the recipient's responsibility. They are not part of the order total you pay us.
Every product shows Sold out. Why?
That usually means your country is not yet on our shipping list, rather than the item being out of stock, and questions about shipping can be directed to lecamoofficial@gmail.com.
How do I wash the pack?
Empty the pockets, rinse out sweat and salt after hard runs, follow the care label, and let it dry fully. Rinse soft flasks and a bladder after every run and wash them with lukewarm water and mild soap using a bottle brush. Drying is the step most runners skip and it matters as much as washing. The step by step version, including the bladder and its tube, is in how to clean a running vest, soft flasks and a hydration bladder.
