Ultra Valle de Bravo Gear Guide: Distance, Refill and Phone Access

Ultra Valle de Bravo offers several distances within one weekend. Start your equipment preparation with the exact name and distance you registered for, then check the event-specific instructions against the series rules.

This article is part of the Mexico race directory. It is a packing workflow rather than a substitute for the mandatory list.

Confirm the format and the documents

The event page lists November 27–28, 2026 and four formats: Alba 49K, Monarca 29K, Capasuri 22K and Caudal 10K.

The 2026 series regulation requires the applicable mandatory equipment throughout the race and directs runners to each event's list. It also requires the phone to remain on, prohibits collecting poles after starting and places the bib visibly on the torso rather than the pack.

The complete distance-specific equipment and aid details are not reproduced here. Confirm them with the organizer before finalizing your kit.

Use your distance to ask the right questions

For your own preparation sheet, record four things: start time, equipment list, next aid point and permitted support. Fill the sheet from the current runner information. A different runner's 49K plan may not describe the requirements for your 22K entry.

Avoid carrying optional supplies simply because they appear in a longer-distance photograph. Equally, do not remove a required item because you think the event sounds short. Match the list first, then fit the load.

Refill without unpacking the main compartment

Choose the water containers you intend to use and rehearse refilling them with the vest packed. Keep food for the next section reachable. If you use a reservoir, check whether the refill opening remains accessible with your outer layer stored.

Practice reseating a full container and closing the storage area. The flask and reservoir comparison helps you decide which routine works for you. Final carried volume should follow the relevant requirements and your section plan.

Give the phone a deliberate location

Use your actual phone, case and protective storage. Check whether you can reach the device while wearing the vest and intended clothing. Arrange the pocket so retrieving the phone does not pull a water container out of place.

Keep charging supplies and the phone organized as a pair if you intend to carry both. The phone pocket guide explains the access checks. Test the arrangement before travel rather than finding out at check-in that the packed pocket will not close.

Check poles and the bib together

If you choose poles, practice storing and retrieving them with the full vest. Check whether they obstruct the phone or the pocket you use for food. Follow the organizer's carrying and use instructions.

Put the bib where the event permits it and check it again after adding or removing a jacket. A strap or pocket should not cover the number. Keep the required placement in your own checklist so it survives the last-minute clothing change.

Preparation step Record before departure
Identify your format Race name and distance from registration
Check required kit Current organizer list for that format
Plan water Required volume and next refill information
Test access Phone, food, poles and bib with the full load

Choose capacity from the verified load

Use the capacity guide after packing required equipment and filled water containers. Confirm that you can remove the items you need while leaving the rest organized. The usable arrangement matters more than matching a pack name to a distance number.
