Orange-front LECAMO ROOT5 running vest with zipped pockets and chest cords

Buying a Running Vest Online: How to Read the Product Photos

A product photograph is useful for understanding a running vest’s layout. It is less useful for proving whether your phone fits or identifying everything supplied in the package.

Read photos alongside the written specification. Use each image to build a list of details you can see and questions you still need answered.

Start with the front view

Locate the chest closures, water pockets and any visible zipped compartments. Notice whether the photographed vest is empty or loaded.

Ask where your phone, keys and food would go. A pocket shown with a small object does not establish that it fits your own item. Record the pocket dimensions you need, especially if you carry a large phone case.

Our phone pocket fit guide turns that visual question into a measurement check.

Look for a rear view

Find the main storage area and its opening. Check whether the photographs show separate compartments, external storage or straps, then confirm their stated purpose in the product description.

A picture of an attached item does not prove how the attachment works or what loads it accepts. Ask for the exact instructions when a carrying feature matters to your decision.

Read close-ups without adding assumptions

Close-up images can show a zipper pull, pocket opening or adjustment detail. They cannot establish a performance rating on their own.

If a component brand or material is named, check that the written specification applies to the model and version you are buying. Ask which compartment uses a listed zipper when the answer is not clear.

The zipper inspection guide provides a related closure check. Keep component identification separate from assumptions about waterproofing or service life.

Check the package contents

List every accessory shown in the photographs: flasks, reservoir, hose, poles or other items. Compare the list with the explicit package contents.

Where the wording is unclear, ask before ordering. A water pocket or reservoir sleeve describes a place to carry equipment; it does not necessarily describe an included accessory.

This also matters when comparing prices across products with different supplied gear.

Use the size chart for fit

Model photographs can show how a vest is worn, but they do not replace the size chart for your own body. Read the measuring instructions and use the current chart for the exact model.

For LECAMO, shortlist the model using its stated capacity and layout, then verify dimensions, contents and fit information. Save the unanswered questions together. A focused question about pocket depth or a supplied flask is easier to resolve than a general request asking whether the vest is good.
