Hong Kong Trail Race Gear Guides: Current Routes and Mandatory Kit

A familiar Hong Kong trail does not make two races interchangeable. The organizer's route, mandatory kit and support rules define the preparation you need for that event.

This directory begins with TransLantau, Sai Kung 50 and the Hong Kong 100 weekend. Use it to find official information and plan what you carry. Return to the series overview for our other regions.

Hong Kong 100 weekend January 21–24, 2027; HK100 January 23 Use current checkpoint information Organizer

The event name alone is not enough to identify the right documents. Sai Kung material from an earlier 2026 date should not be assumed to describe the December event.

Treat the cup as its own piece of equipment

Read whether the organizer accepts a bottle as a drinking container or asks for a separate cup. At TransLantau, the race pages specify a collapsible cup and explicitly do not accept lidded bottles or flasks as a substitute. Check the precise capacity on your distance's official page.

Give the cup an accessible location and try the complete sequence with water containers already loaded. The reusable cup guide explains storage and handling.

Compare the required kit before comparing vests

Write down your distance's requirements. Mark phone and application instructions, lights, clothing and emergency items separately. Keep organizer recommendations distinct from required items so you do not accidentally drop a mandatory item while simplifying your list.

A light recommended for one distance may be mandatory for another. Pack from your own distance's list. Use the race checklist to organize the checking process.

Plan access with the bib and layers on

Check your bib position against the event instructions. Put on the clothing you expect to wear and reach for the cup, phone and light. A pocket that is convenient at home may be covered once you add a layer or a bib belt.

Use our phone pocket checks to test retrieval with your actual device and its protective storage.

Recheck route changes before planning water

The 2027 HK100 route page relocates CP2 and leaves food and beverage details to be announced. Use current route information, then confirm final aid details before assigning your resupply points. Do not assume a checkpoint always offers the same menu.

Fit the complete kit using the capacity guide, and keep the official page saved for the final check before departure.
